^ There is a 1/4" wide hole in the center of the metal, right behind where the HK sub would mount. I ended up just pushing a bolt through that to put pressure on the rear deck, and then I put a lock washer on it. No rattling for the last 6 months or so, with a sub in the trunk.

I probably bought them from Tischer. They're $0.55/each at thebmwpartstore.com.

I've read about the bolt method too. I bought a bolt and looked at the set up but didnt quite understand how it was done. The place I read it from didn't include any pics of the finished job, so wasnt quite sure how to set it up. Still have the bolt in my trunk too. Also read that because the bolt is against the deck, over time wouldnt it punch through since the deck isn't something extremely solid?

Yeah, I ended up putting a large washer on the end that was touching the rear deck, just to space out the pressure. No problems with warping yet. Time will tell.

This seems like one of the quickest and easiest solutions. Do you think when you have free time, you could take some pics of the set up and send them to me? Would really appreciate it.

I don't have an HK system, so can't do it your way. Installed a sub so the rattle is annoying but not something I have to do right now. What I'll probably end up doing is remove the entire back deck and line it with something. I Always ask anytime I see someone mentioning the rear deck rattle in case there is a new method I haven't read about yet. Thanks for letting me know what you did. I appreciate it.
Perhaps try the link below. I still need to do it. The rattle I fixed yesterday was caused by the subs. The deck still squeaks under certain circumstances. http://www.e46fanatics.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=837216

Found these with oil on them not sure if its from the ofh or a new leak. And I could not tell if it was power steering or oil.

I have almost the same problem. At first I thought it was the oil pan gasket. Now I'm thinking it's the oil filter housing gasket. Gotta take a better look at it sometime this week.

My OFHG is leaking I know that for a fact. Just been to lazy to replace it so much work for a 7 dollar gasket lol. I had the VCG oil return line replaced It was leaking but I still smell some oil burning and My oil levels are not droping so It still must be the OFHG. IDK its pissing me off tho.

I know what you mean man. If it weren't for the fact that I don't have the gasket, I would have done it while I was doing my clutch fan delete mod today.

Finally got around to changing my fuel level sending unit on the driver's side as well as replacing the stupid plastic clip on my passenger side rear window regulator. Just a good day for DIY stuff all-n-all...

Productive DIY day today. Total cost: $9.96

Did the alternative to the OEM alarm found here: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=761104
Bought 2 86db buzzers, but not as loud as I wanted, so may go back in and replace it with a 102db buzzer later on. For now I'm quite happy to have an alarm that cost less than $10 total.

And did the clutch switch delay mod found here: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=398047
This one cost me nothing since I had a spare wire crimp from when I did my AE's a while ago.

Well not BMW related, but first thing I did today was change the expansion tank on my Mercedes and put in new coolant. Then I took out some old nasty fogs lights and taped off the wiring.

AND BMW related... I picked up the BMW performance suspension kit this morning and about four hours ago I replaced the expansion tank on my car and put in new BMW coolant. But in the process I f'd up my bleeder screw so I just ordered a brass one.

Changed the spark plugs...I was expecting them too look absolutely horrible, but they weren't bad at all. Also ordered a Euro-tray and should have an Mtech 2 bumper later this week
