Hey guys, how concerned should I be with driving my car should I be with the vcg issue I'm having? I cleaned up the trouble spot and have gone about 5 miles on it and it has not done it again, oil level is fine, no codes or lights.... I ask cause I need to get to BMW tomorrow for the gasket and some other stuff, it's about a 20 mile round trip half cruising half city. Wondering if I could do any damage....

As long as you don't run low on oil, you'll be fine. You can always clean up oil leakage.

+1. As long as you're not losing so much that you actually run out of oil, you'll be fine. VCG is one of those repairs that I would probably just do myself even if I could get the dealer to cover it. It's just too easy; it's not worth my time to take it to the dealer and wait.

This, plus you get to see how the head looks. Love that experience especially if it's the first time I've done it on that certain car. Could give insight into the vehicles past!

Just keep an eye on you oil level. The oil filter housing when it leaks is far worse, fix that while you are at it.

Srsly? I hope you were just cleaning.

That arm rest probably weighs more than the soup you had for lunch.. may want to get rid of it.

Do you have a DIY on it? Have not looked into that, my oil was just changed but I should change it again after doing this correct?

Didn't realize BMW stamped a giant azz logo in the rear insulation. I guess the PO of my car did this at some point, 2 of the rear seat bolts were hardly threaded.

Nightsmoke- some 18" M3 wheels, the black chrome ones, would set your car off man. Super clean sedan!

I think E9x M3 wheels would look better. I dont like the look of E46 M wheels on a non M.
