I'd highly recommend you guys replace your Vanos line while you're in there. It's a lot easier. I wish I did. Mines not really leaking but I'm ready for it to start seeping any time...

Another day of searching for my water leak. Decided to go ahead to Sale BMW and get a new vapor barrier and while I was there picked up a new stainless steel finish BMW license plate for the front. Hopefully the vapor barrier will fix the nasty water leak I have in the rear. If not, I've got other issues. Nothing unusual for this car. I could write the book on how and why you need to get a PPI before buying a car, along with not to buy a fixer upper E46. You find all kinds of lovely presents when fixing other things.

Gotta replace mine soon too. It's leaking a little bit. Figure I'll do that while I'm doing a tune up with VCG and OFHG too.

Figured out why my AC wasn't working. The belt was completely ripped off. Going to the dealer in the morning to pick up a new one. Anyone know how much it's gonna be?

ill, get the belt from autozone for $20 and DIY. All you need is to get the fan off and a ratchet and a torx bit to get the belts loosened by the idler pulley. Do NOT get it done at the dealer.

Ill you can get to it right under the car, just pull the splash shield off its in the lower left part of the engine bay..... Very easy DIY.
