...And, it's done. Little stumbly for the first few minutes of life, but can already tell it's quieter and smoother to 3k rpm. I'll give it a good 400 miles to break in before further review, but no loud noises and no parts leftover, and no apparent leaks yet (reused a fairly recent valve cover gasket, but was careful to put Hylomar in the right spots). I love working on BMWs. This is a logical, carefully thought out repair job, and Rajaie has a great writeup. It was almost faster going back together than coming apart.

Like others have said, why'd I wait so long?

No lights coding. I see great with just my highbeams on (though thought all lights come on then (LOL I don't even know). My low beams are what sort of suck...and the fog lights seem practically useless too...tsk bmw!

^ how much does that compressor weigh? ZHP's have doughnuts and they are not very heavy, I doubt the weight difference would help me, but it might you with a full-sized spare. Read the negative reviews though, looks like the slime in the kit is for ATV or lawn mower tires, so you'll need to buy different slime...

That looks like a pretty good value. My 330i has a full size M68 spare, but I still always have my Harbor Freight air compressor with me just in case. I think it cost me around $20 and it looks very similar to the one in that kit and it definitely weighs less than my spare does. A friend of mine has an '11 135i. He ditched the run flats and drives around with the same Harbor Freight compressor as me.
