just ordered some silly things just because ive really wanted to work on my car lately.

i told myself i would never lower my car but im getting it pretty light and i think its getting higher as a result... so i just ordered some h&r sports. never messed with suspension so should be fun

i also got a sunroof delete kit off ebay. i never use the damn thing and i hate it so its gotta go. should be a challenging project for sure.

New intake tube and elbow; plus clean up icv and disa

My new intake tubes are in. the old ones surprisingly were bad. Also removed and cleaned the DISA, ICV, and throtle bore. Very simple except that the head of the nut to loosen my lower boot clamp were facing down; this made it a pain in the PITA to remove... just cut it out the way. Also, install the clamp facing up the next time around.

BTW, forgot this pic...
this is the easiest way to get the lower clamp in. position it with clamp bolt head up in the rear of the boot, and use a swivel extention... easy.
then attach the smaller tube and do the same.

Two questions...

What brand is the regulator you are buying and if you have a sedan, did you replace the red clip that goes onto the window?

The last one was a Dorman which I replaced today with another Dorman because I bought it locally at an autoparts store that offered a lifetime warranty. I have a sedan and have always replaced the clips along with the hex nut and bolt. I've noticed that if I have the window half way down and shut the door it somehow breaks the clips or causes them to dislodge from the glass which in turn causes the regulator to fail.

I never heard of that brand. At that rate I'd just buy an oem one and see what happens. Maybe lube up the tracks that the glass goes on.

and canyons at 1am.

3am...Just finished Cooling system maintenance.

I didn't do the return hose, or the heater inlet...yet.

The expansion tank wasn't fully seated, and after buttoning everything back up, I start the bleed, and my 50/50 starts pouring out the bottom...oh noes...

Jacked it back up, splash shield off, poured just water into the ET...leaking begins...pushed like hell on the top of the ET, and the sucker seated, and water quit flowing.

Proceeded to bleed again, and voila, all is well, I think.

Going to do a quick test drive, check again for leaks, and if all is well, then off to the canyons we go.

For this weekend work: Replace all the pulleys, water pump pulley and steering pump pulley with aluminum, both pulley mechanical tensioner for AC and alternator, idler pulley. Removed the aux fan and clutch fan, and replaced it with an electric fan. Replaced oem control arms/bushings with meyle HD control arms, ball joints and bushing. Replaced both end links. Replace both belts. And last but not least, oil change with mobil 1.

Next weekend: Cooling system overhaul - looking to replace the radiator, expansion tank, hoses, water pump, thermostat for both the engine and transmission

Replaced the front headlight lens'....now I've realized I really need to replace the turn signals since they look really messed up and old compared to the new lens. Any suggestions on what to go with? I have a Silver 330i ZHP Sedan, I'm torn between going with the clear or just putting in new ambers. I got the lens' from Khoalty and were very pleased with them, any suggestion on who to purchase the lights from?

Swapped out the bosch plugs to NGK on the xi.

Also cleaned up some axle grease from recent cv boot replacements. They cleaned the area ok, but not as good as I would like it.

Installed Powerflex RTABs. I think it solved my tramlining issue. The rear end is so much stiffer and I think it's a little louder. Still need and alignment. I had purchased a steering flex coupler (guibo) to install also, but I don't think it was necessary, and I can't get to the bolts easily.
