I did some research and discovered vinegar and water works to remove hard water stains. I set a towel down over the area soaked with this solution for 7 minutes. Afterwords, I dried the area and hit it with scratch x two more times. No more spots. After that I threw 2 coats of P21S hard wax over the whole area and it looks great.

Just finished an aftermarket 6pin passenger mirror install to a 12pin harness.
I lost my memory and reverse tilt fxn, but its only a quick fix until I install the power folding M3 reps.
On to the next.

Huh? I don't take auto-purchasing advise from Top Gear, its an entertaining show, but that is it. Since the original x3 is based off of the e46, its kind of a "no-brainer" purchase since I have loved every day of the nearly 7 years of ownership of my e46. Unfortunately this one is a no-go, see the note below...

Turned out to have had an accident just before hitting the lot, the dealership's "Free" carfax doesn't show it, but edmunds.com's free autocheck did...

I figured with Hurricane Sandy headed our way, this would be a good time to stock up on E46 bumpers.

Yesterday

About 1/4 inch chunk off the sidewall

$70 and 16 hours later (yes that included both fog lights)

The E46's adopted brother almost ready for winter

You're getting screwed. I hate to say it but its likely because they think you're young and eventually you'll give up.

Start going there and being a pain EVERY DAY. Sooner or later they'll want that to stop.
