Unfortunately that thread is really the only collection of information on PA Soft 1.4. It's a shame because it's difficult to extract anything meaningful from that thread when you're pressed for time. Someone should publish a DIY. All the info is probably within the thread, but there are too many people asking the same questions every few pages.

Agreed... let me know if you ever find anything that's been put together in a helpful concise manner!

Got me a box full of goodies from my boy Ruben @ desert motor works.
Vcg, water pump, exp tank, t stat, and much more. Can't remember all what I ordered.
Now it's just a matter of finding time to do valve adjustment and cooling system.

Changed out a broken expansion tank bracket and coolant level sensor. Ordered the parts that are the actual problem. It appears the radiator brackets are broken which caused the expansion tank bracket to fail and cause the expansion tank to get sliced by the pulley. That's the next job for the day after Christmas...

Got car back from garage after engine and gearbox replacement (as my son had blown the motor when the coolant ran out). I removed the wheels and cleaned them both sides. Found screw in tread of left front tyre. Had that repaired while I water blasted the wheel arches to remove accumulated gunk. Rubberised undersides of side skirts and front and rear bumpers to protect paint from stone chips and other scrapes and such. Washed and polished car. Car now as new with a 30 000 k engine and gearbox. Drove 200 k's to other son for Christmas. Stopped once to check all the car's vitals. Happiness is driving a good car on a good road in a beautiful country on the way to a family gathering - while listening to a mix of Springsteen, Johnny Rivers, Jim Croce, Creedence, Dylan, Clapton.

My personal opinion: if you don't have NCS Expert, WinKFP, etc... You should be careful messing with anything. PASoft may have a more intuitive interface, but it's far too easy to screw up a module. NCS Expert can reset mostly everything back to their defaults, so it's generally less dangerous to mess with.

Otherwise use common sense

Got them from FCPEuro. ESI brand, DO NOT BUY THESE! I went back to stock, packaged them up and put a nice letter in the box to boot. Completely horrible, no adjustment whatsoever. In the market for a new set. I was warned and didn't listen. Don't even think about thinking of buying these.

I did a mean engine detail tonight though. Xmas present for my baby!

Didn't happen today but a few days ago. Replaced the cracked overflow bottle and broken drain plug after my daughter drove 640 miles. She got lucky.

Hit this on the way home...

Engine brace, and driveshaft tunnel brace took it like a champ. Now it's currently heating my living room.
