you guys do not understand that our cars do NOT have that thing in the headlight that spreads the light evenly. so basically you will have some bright lights blinding the living fcuk out of them.

I really wish cops would crack down on illegal HIDs. Far more dangerous than driving even 100mph on a limited access highway.

I had the headlights with the projector in ten already.

+1 I am always getting blinded by crappy HID systems slapped into halogen housings. People just have no idea.

"the headlight with the projector in them already"

what does that even mean? Not all projectors are created equal. There's ling-long tires then there's michelin pilot super sports. both are tires but totally different.

Having "projectors" doesn't automatically mean you have quality lighting. you must have GOOD projectors (high quality aftermarket/replicas), GOOD ballasts (usually OEM or high quality aftermarket), and GOOD NEWish bulbs (in this case, OEM are best in D2S application). Even some of you with stock OEM bulbs... that's usually fine but if they're 10 years old... it's time to replace them regardless of whether or not they work. At $55/ea. on Amazon, it's not bad at all.

Wow, they're actually only $41 a piece now on Amazon!

OEM D2S Philips 85122 HID bulb

^ Yes!!! every cholo in my town has that sheeit. Unfortunately cops will never do anything about it until their superiors tell them to do so. Most cops are incapable in my town of educating themselves on what shouldn't be equipped on cars. who cares if some hillbilly has 38's? what are they hurting? not my eyes haha

Sorry I can't spell that well with an iPhone. This is my first bimmer so I am not up to par on what you would call a bmw education. The oem housing with what I think is bi-xenon lights. Low beam is projector and high beam is a regular light bulb.

Just trying to educate you. Whatever the case, 8,000k is NOT an upgrade. No respectable bulb manufactur even makes 8,000k bulbs. So whatever you have is illegal and ineffective. The correct bulbs brand new are cheap as I linked above. Check it out.

Thank you for the education I do not know that 8000k lights were illegal. I was told before that Phillips did have a really good replacement bulb bi wasn't told the "k" I guess. And what do you think of yellow fogs?

I feel like it's ok to put in this thread because I'll be buying a part to fix this problem soon. plus I don't want to make another thread.

So it's 34 degrees outside, and I left my car parked out there for several hours. When I went to turn the car on everything lit up like normal, and I could hear the fuel pump, but nothing happened. the car wouldn't turn over. I have no power problems. what do you think it could be?

Wish I could tell you the exact problem but I did have this happen on a DSM I owned previously. I was told it could be the egr valve. That's my shot in the dark.

I was talking to some friends, and they think it might be the starter. Thanks for the reply though, I'll look into the egr valve as well

I ordered some Nokya bulbs on eBay for my fogs. One of them went out.

If the battery is fine and the fuel pump is priming, then I'd guess starter.
