Saturday-replaced all shifter bushings

Did this job on my E30 318is almost a decade ago. Almost identical. Even the learning curve on how to remove the bit&h clip. Got it done, and it's like brand new again. Total parts cost $61, including all bushings, washers, clips, pins, etc. Totally worth refreshing a 151k mile shift linkage.

I had an Ireland Engineering SSK on the E30, and decided against that on the E46.

Unfortunately the seller forgot to disclose that the blower was seized and in no way useable.
He will be getting his junk back, and I will be getting my money back.

I should’ve never dealt with someone without a reputation on here. Lesson learnt.

And I purchased items from the fanatic who allegedly got arrested for frauding another member just last week.
It’s a roll of the dice.

Update: I learned two things.

1) While the SMG gearbox may be a technological marvel, is absolutely horrid to drive. Yes, I'm sure there is a learning curve and some fanatics spite me for saying this, but its my truth. The way the paddle shifters move with the wheel is another silly idea.

2) The M3 is scary fast compared to anything non-M. It is very easy to get carried away.

Haha that's a politically incorrect opinion these days, but spot on as well. Go drive a 6MT, I'm sure you'll love it. Only thing I don't like is that the M3 tranny is really notchy.

Also keep in mind that it's pretty easy to convert SMGs to manual these days and working SMG parts sell for enough to recover a significant portion of the conversion cost. So if the price on the PY M3 is really good, I'd consider it.

Since Mango mentioned issues with his battery vent hose the other day I decided to check mine out. I never remembered seeing a vent hose in the first place. Sure enough it was sitting on the side disconnected. Hooked it up and now venting sulfuric acid fumes like a champ
