Went to the driving range and took a drive down the coast afterwords before heading inland for some high performance twisty road driving. Had a great time, but I burned a little oil the process.

Looks like fun! I might have to give this a try once. I cannot stand getting stuck behind people. It ruins the whole experience.

Today... what did I do today ...

-Thermostat (first ever SEL at 100k miles) and hoses replacement
-coolant drain and refill
-vanos oil line replacement
-fuel filter replacement

No leaks and engine temp is back up into the mid-90s.

Today was a good day.

Avoided 3 accidents in a series of 10 seconds. Thank god I leave an "out" when I drive. I hate driving in Phoenix. So I guess I kept her alive and healthy today

I didn't do it for my E46, but my roommate pulled my car into the garage while it snowed. Yay for roommates. I was too busy on a mini vacation.

Its not so much, "what I've done for my car" but its "what I'm going to do to my car" - going after the CCV and all hoses that spider away from this contraption.

Its leaking oil down to the oil dip stick tube and around the oil crank case. Hopefully this is the source of the leak (OFHG already done). Will also replace intake elbows, clean ICV and other minor touch-ups.

Hopefully my next post will read "mission accomplished"

I blacked out the fins in the kidney grills today as they had chrome ones.

I removed the chrome outer trim and then sanded the chrome off the fins with fine sandpaper (p2000).

Then I buffed them to a shine with a polishing compound.

I was hoping to do the same to the outer trim but it turns out they are moulded from a grey plastic so I left them alone.

I refitted them in the afternoon and I'm very pleased with how they turned out.

Celebrated 100k by changing the ofhg (getting tired of cleaning the garage floor) and giving her a good rinse to wash off the road salt.
