My car decided to start idling like garbage today. CEL - Misfire 1-6, P0171, P0174: Classic jfojitis

Ordered a Dorman DISA and new BMW upper/lower intake boots. I'm going to clean the ICV when I replace all three on Friday. Hoping this solves the problem.

It's unfortunate the Genuine DISA is $300 now...but at $100 for a Dorman, I can get three of them for the price of one BMW DISA... I can even upgrade it with the GAS kit for slightly over half of a Genuine DISA! But I'm not going to, I'm just gonna install it and it'll be good for a good long while again - probably won't need to replace it again by the time I sell it.

Steering wheel coupler. I got anxious after reading the DIY. I got it off and on in 15 minutes.

Really took out the play in the wheel. It didn't cure a vibration I have at 40mphish but I didn't expect it to. Bumps feel softer now...just altogether smoother.

40 mph at about 10-20% throttle? Common problem. Check drive shaft guibo and center support bearing.

You got it.

Fuuuu I should've inspected the guibo better tonight. I'm pretty sure it was fine though...which means it's probably the bearing.

Oil and filter change with BMW 5W-30 (why bother with anything else?), new Mann air filter and replaced brake pads and rotors.

Did valve cover gasket and spark plugs. Omg my old gasket turned into hard plastic over 143k miles. Took all day because I cleaned everything lol, also just came back from a test drive, I am quite impressed. Just looking at the mpg I am averaging 22 mpg city so far compared to the 16 I was getting, no more acceleration lag as well. Falling in love with my car all over again, we will see what the true mpg is at the next fill up

Because your engine has 160k and you live in a warm climate. If your engine consumes any oil, you would benefit from a slightly thicker oil.

Good Luck.

You must've had a ton of oil seeping into the cylinders to equate to that much performance increase

After a long winters nap, washed and cleaned the convertible then took it for a nice drive.
Every Spring the feeling comes back. You gotta luv these cars.

I haven't done this...yet. But I found some parts that I REALLY want to order. Me and the wallet are currently at odds with each other.

http://www.oembimmerparts.com/produc...92362mye46.htm

http://www.bmaparts.com/additem.wws

Unsure about which shocks/struts to order though.

Front bearings and hubs too.

If only I had a money tree!
