Maybe this will convince you guys to go with the Z4
![]() I think the best of both worlds would be to bend the Z4 shifter just SLIGHTLY, but then again I guess you risk breaking it, as I have never seen an actual write up where someone has done it. Last edited by boostedisbetter; 11-29-2012 at 11:29 AM. |

My concern is the trim being hit by some people's posts. I have a 00 323Coupe. It'll cost me about $80 in total either way I go. |

That's it. Sabine's getting one by christmas. I already have the ZHP knob so this shouldn't run me more than $70 all in if I get the parts from the dealership.

You know, this was a concern of mine too, but I didn't have that problem... I'm not sure if something changed at a certain year or not, but mine comes about 1" from hitting the trim in 3rd and 5th |

Would you happen to have a pair of calipers to measure a few things for me on that shifter?
I'm a machinist and have a machine shop at my disposal and I want to make a shifter out of stainless just like the z4 shifter. I just want the dimension from the end of the ball to where the weld begins at the bottom.

lol..i did not look @ ur shifter installed b4 postin the last one...looks gr8...now im kinda
thinkin of if i should've gone with this instead of the 545i shifter! how does it feel btw? 545 is very precise in shifting..a bit stiffer which is good but more stiffer on the 3rd!
