Auto-UP is illegal in the US. It is possible that it won't pass inspection. They say that someone could have their head in the way and it could choke them. Only Euro models come with the auto-UP and auto-DOWN. Simply because Europeans are not retarded.

Drew coded mine for auto up with remote a couple years ago... he also Euro-coded my corner lights (they stay off unless I'm signaling). I've been thru multiple inspections since, no problems. They don't check that. He also re-programmed it so that the auto down feature only lowers my driver and passenger windows. The sunroof and 'batflaps' stay closed. However, when locking the car and doing the 'auto-up', it still closes every window that is open.

Also heads up, recently people have started meeting up again at UNCC on Monday nights... usually around 9:00pm until whenever at the top of West Deck, located by the UNCC police dept. It's been a decent turnout, with a mixed crowd.

CJin - I saw your build thread with the headliner. Looks awesome, what glue did you use?

The headliner I did not actually do. I had a guy off of South Tryon do it. He was working on a Ferrari 599 GTB out of Florence, SC when I went in there, so I figured he'd do a good job. He charged $675 for the suede (He has multiple colors to choose from) he also knows how to replace the broken clips in the sunroof (I had him do that as well). As far as the glue goes, I'm not sure, you could call Rudy at the Kuztoms Shop, he's a really cool guy and really knows what he's doing.

As far as the programming goes, I was just listing what I saw on other forums. Most of the stuff like multi-color halos, reflector deletes, etc. are all illegal down here. Whether or not you get pulled over or not, I am not sure. I just try to play by the rules. "Never put yourself in a position to be compromised."

And I appreciate your compliment on the headliner. Your 325 looks pretty kickass. I've been wanting the ZHP/MTech II kit for a long time. One of my old friends used to have a Steel Blue 325CiC, but it looked no where near as nice as yours.

Thanks for the compliment and the heads up. I'll keep that spot in mind. My A and C pillars are the worst, I'm tempted to just get some regular grey fabric that'll match the headliner and redo all the pillars myself, but I've heard and seen mixed results using the aerosol 3M Spray Adhesive. I've heard the best stuff is some industrial glue that sprays thru a paint gun or similar device. Oh well, It's no rush. Sure I'll get to it one day if I don't sell the car first.

I've heard of some people just ripping out the fabric and just painting the pillars black instead. Mine was a black interior with gray headlining so I wanted something dark anyway, the black suede was the same price, but I didn't want to convert all of the gray plastic to black, it would have been easily over an extra $300 for OEM parts. Instead I got the dark grey, have loved it since the purchase, and it also adds some nice contrast with the mix of light and dark grey.

If your interior is gray, I'd just do like what you're saying and re-glue the stock gray. If your interior is black, since the grey is already falling off, I'd say just redo the whole thing, that way you don't have to worry about it down the road.

Is there going to be the monthly meet off Morehead next weekend on the 21st? I know last month wasn't a good turn out due to the rain, and wasn't sure if anything is planned or being planned for the 21st.

I've heard that Hendrick BMW NorthLake gives tires to workers. I have a friend who knows someone who works there, I could ask him if they have any that they would sell. I'll see him in class tomorrow.

Any specific tire size?

Great, thanks. Nothing in particular, just something that will fit nicely on a stock ZHP. So something in the neighborhood of 225/40/18:255/35/18

I'll check with him tomorrow, maybe he'll get back to me by Wednesday. If he's got some, I'll see if I can bring them on Saturday night. I'll update you as soon as he lists prices or whether or not he has them, etc.

This is an inaccurate statement.
There are other auto makers that have similar features.

When this feature is enabled, the pinch sensor is still active and will stop the closing procedure when it detects resistance.

My mother was trying to buy a Porsche a few years back, and had asked if it came with the auto-up and auto-down windows, they said that it was a safety hazard so the newer cars didn't come with that option.

I then proceeded to check some online forums to see if that was true. Somewhere online I had read that it was illegal in the US and that it wouldn't pass inspection.

You may be right, I'm just stating the explanation of that previous post I made.

My Ride: 2004 E46 M3 Vert
I live in the Matthews area, Stallings to be exact. I'm also new to the forum and BMW's in general...I was a Honda/Acura guy for years and recently picked up an 04 E46 M3. Anyways, not sure if this is the correct place to post this but here goes!

I had my car tinted at a local shop, Evolution Auto Salon, this past Saturday. The owner told me that they're having a meet/fundraiser this Saturday, November 23rd from 1-4pm at the shop and they expect a pretty big turn out - everything from muscle cars to euros to trucks. I don't really know the guys over there, but Matt (the owner) told me that his business partner and friend passed away a few weeks ago while attending the SEMA show and they are going to raffle off some prizes to help raise money for his family.

The address is 241-A8 Post Office Drive, Indian Trail, NC 28079 and phone number 704-234-8432. He said it will be family friendly, with some food, drinks, raffles, etc. I plan on checking it out so I figured I'd put it up to see if anyone else was interested. I don't have much more info than this, but feel free to give them a call (or ask me and I'll try to answer!)
