E46 sedam1JZ conversion.

Starting my engine rebuild for my 1jz engine this week. I have an e46 318i sedan and will be doing the conversion hopefully within a few months , will be converting it to manual and am looking for the 350 + rear wheel kw mark. I will post pics of the process and let you guys know how it all goes. Mite be useful to other enthusiasts who love the 1 or 2 jz engines. Wish me luck

Re: E46 sedam1JZ conversion.

Very nice. I had a mk3 supra I toyed with putting a 1.5jz in for a while. I ended up trading it for another old truck. Lol.

Subscribed. This is going to be killer.
I use to have a JZX100 Chaser 7 years ago. 1JZ is a f*cken brilliant engine. Bulletproof and awesome in every way (my old build thread).
They say the 1JZ is the best sounding six cylinder engine to ever come from Japan. Even better sounding than the 2JZ and the RB26. I agree wholeheartedly (i've owned both Supra and GT-R's in my younger days). There's something magical about the 1JZ when it opens up.

Are you using a VVT-i engine or the older non VVT-i version mate?

Please listen to how staunch does the 1JZ sounds

Beast. The older non VVT-i has a more "raw" engine note. Sounds tough as balls.

Will you be modding the engine or just doing a stock/sleeper install?

Wow sounds great.
Are you doing the conversion yourself or getting it done in a shop?
When do you plan to start ripping out the motor?
Do you have everything yet?
How much have you planned for this to all take start to finish?

Re: E46 sedam1JZ conversion.

My mechanic is edge motorworks , they specialise in high performance toyota engines , still getting all my bolt on parts ready before the car actualy goes in to get the motor stripped. Im guesing it cost 15 - 20 maybe even more once its complete
