I know some of you guys are tight on Money and Like to Hold out alittle while. That is fine as-long the other people on the GB is OK with it.

So far there is only 2 people who have put down their first deposit. Hopefully, more will start sending once Black Friday and Cyber Monday Pass. I will talk to ATI see if we can't get a better price or something.

You fellas have got to get this GB off the ground.

Finally was able to run mine in this week, and OMFG the engine is sooo much smoother. I can't believe this isn't done more often in BMW circles. The difference is very noticeable in my opinion, or maybe mine was just that shot after 150,000 / 8 years in a hot engine compartment. I definitely would do this again! Highly recommended!

Anthony, you have a 330, don't you need one of these too?

Come on guys, keep your priorities straight, but as soon as that's cared for... lets try to as quickly as possible have engines that wont want to grenade themselves.

Now that I've paid....Get on it you deadbeats! (kidding)

How long will the turn around be from sending the rest of the money and my measurement to ATI being able to ship out the damper?

a) sweet, 50% from over 50%!

b)
I'm also still not very clear on this. I'm not sure if the measurement is to the crank seal, the timing cover, or the chain sprocket (which isn't max'd in its position, it floats on the crank, the chains place it)

Measurement of the Snout is Not Required at the Moment. It can be giving at Second Payment. This will get the order going and less down time and have to do things twice.

neat^

much easier than all those though- just the outer diameter of the end of the crank (where the damper's getting pressed on)

Can it be measured without removing the crank pulley?

nay- the crank pulley mounts very close to the block so there's no room

I'm ordering an ATI SD for my b25 (unless it dies) in a month or so before I F.I ( TT turbo from nick g?). I just gotta let my pathetic account recover from my Black Friday-cyber Monday spendathon. I feel like my stock damper is probably donezo anyways (113k driven miles on car, and my damper stock unless it was replaced before 40k or without my knowledge, as my engine is rattlesnakin (prob vanos rattle, water pump/idler pulley hiss). Im just gonna give it a good refreshing, depending on my leakdown and comp test.

Main question: Will the tool and adapter work for both b25s and b30s? Since it looks like I will have to forego the gb this time, I may just buy the tools now and rent them by mail to you guys if enough interest is shown. It would make it cheaper for all of us. I am not trying to make a business out of renting this tool, just trying to save us all a little money, especially since the payments might be hard to make during the holidays. Im also not trying to steal anyone else's business, but having more than one avail. for rent might be more time efficient and would allow cheaper shipping for those in the south/east coast depending on package weight.

Actually, getting the OEM damper off and measuring the snout was a 30 minute job. Pretty easy as long as you have a good breaker bar and a long pipe. Ain't no way to get the bolt off without a pipe unless you are REALLY strong.
