Check out Wolf Designs. They have 50% off sales throughout the year. I was able to pick up one at a good price last year.

Same here, good suggestions and watches in this thread. Also there are good watches at many different price points, you always don't have to have a car or house sitting on your wrist when you can have a nice watch for a modest price to wear daily, like the seiko I just got, performs great for diving...just as well as any 10k-100k watch and while diving I don't have to worry about it possibly getting damaged or taking abuse from daily wear like I did when I was wearing my omega.

Aside from the black/blue face is there anything else significant that would make the 809 worth more or the K2?

Thanks Griff now I am going to start looking at straps

Get the Seiko 5 Sports. It is bigger.. Something like this:

I have no idea on the model numbers. I think some of the older ones are Japanese movement, and the newer ones are not.. So, possibly 807 would be Japanese, and 807k2 is not.. But I don't know.. I can't even figure out what model mine is..

I got mine thanks to this thread a few months ago. Very nice cheap watch, I highly recommend it. I made sure to get the Japanese version, you can tell by the "Made in Japan" near the 7.

Just got a vintage late 60's early 70's omega de ville. My grandma bought it for my dad and he just gave it to me. It works

Anyone know anything about these? Post pics later

Rotha - you should check out the Braun/Dieter Rams line. They're similar to that Alessi watch you posted, but with a really great designer behind it.

robbing with a sword is a good thing

Make sure you check it out in real life before you buy! I drooled over that watch for 2 years, finally had the cash to purchase it... checked it out at a local dealer... ITS HUGE. If that's your style, its an amazing watch, however turned out I liked the auto chrono better than the maestro! Still a large face! Couldn't be happier with my purchase

As long as you like it, that's all that matters.
