This x100. It's an art. You need an incredibly steady hand (similar to the guys that do pin-striping on hotrods) and know how to properly dis-assemble a watch.

99.99% chance you will need to ship the watch. All the big boys that I know of have a waitlist and all are scattered around the country. Like I said, it's an art and incredibly difficult to do, so there I'd rather ship the watch and wait to make sure I have a factory (sometimes better) finish.

Orange lume is awesome (but rare). Lum TEC has a bunch of cool models with it.

things that glow
- the big numbers that are not in orange
- the orange dots at each hour mark
- the orange parts on the second, minute, and hour hands

Use a powerful lightsource (like a tracklight and hold the face of the watch as close to the light as you can) for 30 seconds, which will give your lume full power. Most OEM lume isn't as strong as aftermarket. Ever since tritium was outlawed, all the companies switched over to superluminova (which costs more per oz than gold) and use that instead. Unfortunately, since it is so expensive, they are cheap with it, so the lume isn't THAT strong. I have seen the lumtec in person, and you can read a book with it, it's THAT bright. Factory lume is just enough to tell the time in the dark.

after holding the watch directly under the lamp for over 30 seconds .. the glowing effect is not too bad
glows green
definitely not BRIGHT but enough to tell the time

Best way I found to charge lume, is a UV light.

PS- If you are sending your watch for lume job, just make sure its out of warranty. That is something that will definitely void your warranty.

My Ride: my favorite two feet
If it is sent to the factory and or authorized repair center why would it void the warranty?
