I've never been a fan of solid gold Rollies, much less with stones on them. Also, most rollies are a bit too small for my liking. Personal choice though. I like bigger watches. I still daily drive my day/date Speedmaster (38mm) but I prefer the 42-44mm.

- Breitling Chrono-Matic [2008]

- Breitling B2 [2003] (my first "real" watch)

- Omega SeaMaster [Co-axial Auto 2010]

- Panerai Luminor Marina Power Reserve [2006] (PAM 090)

Here they are sleeping in the winders

Looking forward to seeing what everybody else is into! (I am guessing a lot of PAMs based on the threads I have seen)
On E Bay this year a man advertised an expensive watch, the would be buyer asked to see the watch and pulled out a gun and stole the watch

What would you guys recommend in the ~$500 range? Im looking for a nice dress watch. Nothing bulky. I know $500 is not a lot compared to some of the watches in this thread but Im new to watches and $500 is what I would like to spend. Any suggestions?

Suggestions? Yes. Spend a lot less.

There is absolutely no reason to spend $500 on a watch. You are not getting a good quality high end watch, and are overpaying for just "a watch."

There are definitely nice dress watches in the $150-250 range
Even automatic ones
Like orient and seiko
I think at the top end of your budget, you can look at some Hamilton

Yeahh I suppose you're right. I really can not spend a grand on a watch at the moment so I thought $500 would be a good starting point but I guess that falls inbetween a great watch and just a watch.

Those are pretty nice. What about a tissot prc200 with a white background? Thats in the $300 range and looks pretty decent but do not know much about tissots.

They aren't "better" than a Swiss Army (Victorinox) or a Seiko. Just get a nice clean watch in the style you like. Some of my first watches back when I was younger were Swiss Army/Wenger and they are still working today.

Fossil also has some good looking models at a reasonable pricepoint.

T-minus 2 weeks until the Omega is done. Still haven't ordered a strap, though I know which I'm getting.

Getting pretty antsy at this point...

a lot of choice there for under $500

I'd look first at Seiko(Orient) and Citizen(Bulova) or (lines that they own).

I have had a Victorinox Crono classic for 3 years it's still in great shape!

But otherwise look at luminox or tissott.

Kind of a neat video...

Hard to believe all this goes in to a watch that starts at $100...

Your entitled to your opinion. Your probably just stuck on the stigma that cones with a rolex. I love the daydate and datejust. Absolutely classic and timeless design.
