Posting this piece with the band for sale on a local site. How much should i ask for it? And how should I write the description?

When it comes to those old watches, a big factor is the case material. Is it 10k? 14k? 18k? And what year? Pre-WWII is a lot more valuable than just after. Finally, service history? Rebuilding a vintage piece can be extremely expensive if it wasn't cared for properly over its lifetime.

For example, my dad has a 60's Seamaster Deville with the 18k case. Its worth about $40k. The same watch was made with a 10k case. Its worth about $7k. The actual difference in gold value is less than $4000. So, its important to know a lot more about the watch.

I believe it's 18k and post-WWII (1950's). It was appraised at over $2k in 1998. It has been recently serviced. Similar watches are going for around $2500 in my city.

I think before making a "For Sale" ad I am going to get the model number and from that decide whether it is worth keeping or selling.

Got this guy for my birthday two weeks ago... I'm too hard on my watches so I've learned not to spend too much on them.

My newest watch. My girlfriend surprised me with it on my birthday this past Tuesday.

Here it is with the rest of the collection. I'm a fan of divers.

I have the chronograph, but I have such a woody for the power reserve as well. The best part of that watch for me is the exhibition back...movement is so pretty. Nice pickup friend

That Port 7 day is fake. Sub-dials are too close to each other. They should be closer to the 3 and 9 positions. "7" is too straight. Date aperture is too high

This is more what yours look like
