JMO.
If they had just moved the interior dial to make it centered and then moved the red marker to the inside of the dial, it would look amazing. Unfortunately it just looks like a manufacturing mistake.

So I am looking to get a watch in the next month or two. I was really set on a 44mm Breitling Superocean Heritage Chrono (black dial), but I tried it on the other day and wasn't crazy about the size. Because of the big bezel, the 44mm I liked wore a little small and the 46mm model seemed too big and the case was very thick.

Now my top choice is the new IWC pilot chrono, which I think is a better quality watch, however I have not had a chance to go check it out in person.

Trying to decide what other options are out there in this price range (3-5k). Looking for a 43-45mm watch, preferably chrono, and could come either on a strap/bracelet. I know the Omega PO is a fantastic choice, but my brother wears one and I really dont want to have the same watch as him. What are some other solid alternatives?

I've got the IWC top gun chrono in ceramic. I LOVE everything about it.

Parnis does the homage thing.

Here is the closest I could find, but I have seen what you are looking for somewhere on ebay

I believe the 3717 is 42mm though... I think the 3777 is what you need

As far as Breitlings go, I really like the Transocean chronograph.

The breitling I posted is a 44mm based on the websites I have seen. I tried the one you posted at my local AD, along with a bunch of others. It was a nice piece, but I didnt love it enough to add it to my collection. I love the navitimer, but its over budget. I was also a very big fan of the calibre de cartier, but that piece is also on the pricier side. Still need to go check out the IWC again to be sure, but I still think its the way to go based on what I have seen in the <5k range. I am open to any other suggestions as well. Thanks for the input!

The IWC pilot chrono retails for like $7500 I thought...is it that easy to find them under $5k?

My Ride: is better than yours
I plan on treating myself when I get back from deployment by getting my first Rolex. It's either between the "hulk" or the 50th anniversary. Thoughts between the two?

Hulk

50th anniversary

I personally would stick with the 50th over the hulk for a first rolex, just because the black dial is more versatile. Have you seen this new GMT II? Also a very cool color combo in my opinion.

Rolex made a lot of nice improvements with their new watches.

The new watches have a beefier case (not necessarily better, but nice for a sport watch), the bracelet has solid center links, the new clasp is awesome (look up glidelock clasp), the ceramic bezel is , chromalight, etc...

The Kermit is nice, but the Hulk is nicer.

I miss it dearly, and you will be very happy with the hulk!!

I have a Sub currently and theres something about a GMT 2 that stands out above the Submariner!

Deciding if I should get a Daytona in white or a GMT 2 in black (pretty close to my sub).
