If sales reps always go "oh my god its the planet ocean" and don't know what a Rolex Milgauss is, you are visiting some pretty shieetty jewelry stores.

lets get back to the pics and good discussion!

put on my extremely low-key Steinhart when I got home today after seeing oofie's pictures yesterday...

you've gotta love when you find a design you really like and it just so happens that it doesn't cost $$$$ ...

The second is a special run by Christopher Ward (up-and-coming independent maker in London). It's the C3 Malvern Corax (sapphire crystal, chrono), and I got their last one by emailing the guy's wife Wera, who took my order over the phone from the UK. Great company, excellent watches.

Thanks for posting this, I just ordered that CW C3 Malvern...I was looking at the Tissot PRC200 as well as a few other lower key automatics (Steinhart/Defaubre), but the Christopher Ward was very Classy looking and not bad in price department either. It was a pre order for a March Delivery and I got it from the US site. From what I gathered off the interwebz, it's a very quality Swiss made watch. I debated on getting the C5 Malvern Automatic, but decided to go with the C3 because I liked the design a little better.

If I remember from an old thread he's a processing analyst or some such back office gig for BNP Paribas.

Anything with "analyst" or "processing" does not scream client facing.

Glad to hear it. I'm a huge fan, and grats on the great pickup.

I'm really itching to get another CW, possibly a diver this time around - like the C60 GMT. The Debaufre GMT Ocean 1 is also just so nice. And the price points for the two are about the same. Watch makers make it so hard to choose.

I keep looking through this thread and that TAG really keeps growing on me and has caught my attention too bad the price is way over budget for me to spend on a watch. I don't see my self spending that much (1k+) on a watch anytime soon.... so I guess that Tissot may have to suffice (i'ts also pretty eye catching just not as much ) ... Any other similar and cheap suggestions that wont break the bank but are of good or decent quality?

Any reputable online stores for watches?

Here's a similar one from Christopher Ward: the C7 Chrono.

As far as stores for buying watches? I've had good luck with either going direct from the manufacturer (in the case of Christopher Ward), buying one-on-one from watch forum members (like watchuseek.com, etc.), and deal-of-the-day places (like watchdoddy.com & elitedealseeker.com).

imo its probably worth it to buy preowned tag carrera off a forum..
i did that for my first automatic watch 1.5 years ago. got myself a carrera (nonchronograph) for $850 shipped from a private seller - and i sold it for $800 after wearing it for 6 months. (not bad)

This is good advice. A lot of guys who buy nicer watches have the attention spans of twelve year olds on acid. They buy something, something else catches their eye, and the old one needs to be sold to make room for the new one. Keep your eyes open for a good example (one with good documentation to prove authentiticity) and you'll likely get a great watch at a nice price.
