if your friend likes vacations and first class flights then obviously thats your friends priority. some people dont give a sh!t about watches or cars or clothes.
american millionaires are some of the worst dressed people out there.
look at how millionaires in other countries dress? all tailored brand name suits, all rolex and patek watches. most have drivers driving them around in brand new mercedes
america is considered a casual country. people dont need to upkeep an image of success and glamour.
in japan or korea for example if you dont look expensive then you arent rich and successful. so you have to upkeep that imagine and prevent atrophy

VillanovaGrad riddle me this....

You talk about how in America millionaires often dress casual and do not put much of their money towards looking "wealthy". Which is very true, and I commend you on realizing this. But then you say that you "have to have at least a few nice watches if you are successful."

So which one is it?

Read the book, "the millionaire next door." It is a survey of American Millionaires from all ages and walks of life in this country. On the topic of watches most of them laughed and said that "working people need to know what time it is, millionaires do not."

It was a pre order for a March Delivery and I got it from the US site. From what I gathered off the interwebz, it's a very quality Swiss made watch. I debated on getting the C5 Malvern Automatic, but decided to go with the C3 because I liked the design a little better.
damn, went to order a couple of CW's and they don't take Amex...bastids.

Thanks. The All Black is actually the Tempus edition (notice the rose gold 2), LE 50 pieces. Very very rare. There's no Ice Bang in there, it's an Aero Bang Morgan, which has the same case/bezel combo as the Ice Bang, but in a skeleton dial and Morgan logo. LE of 500.

My daily wearer on most days is my custom BB in the upper right there. LE of 1 haha. Since it's all ceramic, it still looks factory fresh even though it has gotten by far the most wrist time.

For those interested in the Jacques Lemans watches I touted a couple days ago, there's a sale going on. Great deals on sapphire watches (as low as $110 shipped).

Your stupidity never ceases to amaze me...

Seriously though, think about what you're saying. Who is gonna carry their computer with them to keep time and not everyone wants to constantly pull out their phone to check the time. Also, not everyone can take their phone into their work and it's easier to use my watch than my phone to do certain things (timer, alarm, world clock, etc.). If I'm in a meeting, I don't want to pull my phone out to check the time.

If I am remembering correctly, the top 10 (even the top 100) watches sold on Amazon are mainly digital watches from what I remember and you probably don't consider digital watches to be jewelry, do you...you need to think about the majority of Americans who can't afford a $1k watch to wear everyday.

Well, if anybody's signature is beyond stupid I would say it's mine.
Just add "then I met VillanovaGrad" to it and then it won't be beyond anymore, but right on target.

Word, I agree about VG and this. If I'm in a meeting or court, I can't whip out my cell phone to see how much time I'm wasting, but a watch is subtle and very quick.
