at some point, *most* watches are a rip off of something else. Who is going to say that no one else can make a "submariner" style watch? It just depends on how snobby you are.

As long as the "ripoffs" don't have the name on it, I'm ok with it.

That's true, the case is soft like a pure gold it's easily scratched. It trained me to be careful... LoL...

Just want to point out that Burberry watches are made by Fossil. Therefore, you are getting the same components of a $75 watch with a $250 price tag because of the name.

I'm liking this new Tissot PRC200 "Auto-Quartz" in the sub-$500 range of watches.

The second is a special run by Christopher Ward (up-and-coming independent maker in London). It's the C3 Malvern Corax (sapphire crystal, chrono), and I got their last one by emailing the guy's wife Wera, who took my order over the phone from the UK. Great company, excellent watches.

I really like these

+1 for Panatime. I have the luxury of being 20 min away from their studio. They give a kick ass discount if you call and walk in. Other than that, if you're looking for high quality, look up Ted Su.

Yea, its a real sketchy building, but make it inside and it's strap heaven. The owner was really nice and let me touch 3-4 different colors, straps. Gave me extra spring tubes and screw drivers! All for cheaper than online!

EDIT: not to say his stuff isn't top quality, its like solid luxury 3 series BMW for $30-50 a strap. baller straps might be $180, but I'm not sure you're getting a lot more than Panatime...

Anywho, great site, ships fast too.

They are typically on sale for good prices on overstock.com, as well.

I just checked out those sites. Anyone know of a place to get an olive drab, thick nylon or canvas strap? Military style. Not that thin nato crap.
