Style 138 on an e46 *PICS*

I've been wanting some new wheels for a few years now but thought I'd have to spend a lot to get something I would be happy with. I finally started checking craigslist every day a couple weeks ago and on Friday I found these for one hell of a deal. It took a bit of research to find out if they'd fit my car since they are from a newer 5er but luckily they came from an AWD 5er which has a similar offset to the E46's. They are 17" x 7.5" and in excellent shape. I paid $350 but had to drive an hour to pick up. An indy tire shop threw on my current tires, balanced, and did a full alignment for only $110! I know they aren't baller status but I bet you haven't seen them on an e46 before! Pics were taken with my phone so the quality is weak but here's what it looks like:

By the way, I'm on stock sport suspension.

I had a chance to get the same set. I bolted them on and didn't like the way they looked on my car. I think what really threw me off was the bigger tires on them and the suspension not setteling down. But I do like the look.

Interesting, so you must have gone down a wheel size with those? These are the same size as my stock sport wheels so I used the same tires. The offset is only like 6mm less so there's no noticeable difference in handling but these lighter wheels definitely take bumps wayyy better than my style 44's.

They look pretty good. Classy clean 5 spokes and easy to clean. Good find. Thanks for posting.

Thank you, I can't believe nobody else has these on their car. I found an old thread where someone once had them but the pictures had been removed and he ended up replacing those wheels anyway. I'm very happy with the look AND feel of these wheels compared to my curbed and spray painted 44's.

What's the offset? There's a set for sale near me but the guy doesn't know anything about his wheels. All I know is that they're 17s from the tire but no width or offset. They are from a 2004 5-series but I don't think it was AWD. I've been looking forever to replace my 16" 45s. Also considering a set of 17x8 style 119s. Very similar to the 138. Oh yeah, is the hub bore the same or did you need to get rings?

What's the offset? I thought most 5 series stock rims don't fit...

Xi models have about the same as n e46 but I've heard that sometimes the center bore might be different :p

These wheels have a 43 offset and they are off a new model AWD 5 series, not a 2004 model. The hub bore is also the same as the e46 so there was no need for modification.

These weigh about 3lbs a piece less than my old wheels, and I definitely notice the difference. The ride is better and the car seems a little more spry. I still love the way they look every time I walk out to my car. Best part is that they are OEM.

I'm looking at the exact rims from a 2006 530 but it is not a x drive . Would his offset be a problem on my '99 323i 4dr, I'll be putting in street edge coil overs soon also, they also say some cars will need spacers with this susp..

No, they have to be from an x-drive car for proper offset. I'm not sure if this can be resolve with spacers or not.
