Cleaning Headlights?

I have a 04 325i and the headlights are all "foggy". I was wondering if I could remove the headlight and remove the headlight lens to clean it inside and out. Is it possible? What cleaner should i use?

There halogen headlights.

I use Mothers lens restoration kit. Works well. Easy to use powerball application for a cordless drill.

a good guide for you regardless if you replace or want to take them off for cleaning.. there's a DIY someone did about refinishing them, but most don't get great results as it takes a lot of time and a bit of knowledge, or a buffer

You won't want to "polish" the inside of your headlight lens. It's easily prone to scratching and will be nearly impossible to fix.
