Max PSI on Stock CR

Guys.

On the M54B30, stock Compression Ratio is 10.2 to 1

What do most people consider to be the max long term safe PSI?

9 or 10 PSI?

Thanks,

Probably 8-9psi for long term without any internal work. I am pushing 16.5psi through a twin screw and have my CR @ 10.5:1 but that requires a pretty expensive and thorough bottom end build.

Ess on the ts3 specs 14 or 15 psi with 9 to 1 compression and no other bottom end work. Are you running 93 octane or E85 or meth injection? Your effective compression ratio seems very high.

Technique tuning uses 8 psi on stock compression on the stage 1 kit. Anybody know the compression and psi on the stage 2 kit?

Thanks. It says lower compression, thicker head gasket. Anyone know how low?

On stock motors you can run 9-10.5 of Boost Safely

how can people comment on how much PSI is safe when they don't know the hardware specifics? is this turbo or supercharger? and even then, variables could be different...is this a TD03 like the 335 or something big like a gt42? 8 psi on one turbo/supercharger can be completely different than another setup.

I have an ess twinscrew 8 psi in need of an engine and trying to think about my options when I buid a new engine. I could just do the ts2+ whixh is 8.5 psi on stock compression. ts3 is 14 or 15 psi pn 9.0:1 compression. no in between is offered from ess. I wonder if something in betwen would be more durable.

thanks
John

I am able to run such high boost with that high of compression courtesy of Carillo rods, CP pistons, ARP hardware, blueprinted lightened and knife edged crank, and such. Just as important was a tune done by an incredibly competent tuner.

Like I said, it's not cheap, but I knew that before I started. If you know what you want going in, and you don't overreach what's truly possible, and are willing to seek out experts for advice and admit that you are in over your head (I certainly was), then you can do a lot of things that are not usually considered possible or even a good idea.
