This is me at 190 lbs., about 4 weeks out from competition.

That's not a bad 190 - I still wouldn't wanna drop below 200 though. Even though it seems feminine, did you try yoga and extensive stretching? I've never lost my flexibility and I play all sports as well as participate in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Krav Maga is next ). I'm glad you have an idea of what I mean - guess when you get serious about working out and don't do it just for vacationing (no offense Romeo), you can get into more detail. BTW, to answer your question - former NYPD now in Westchester.

i buy my protein from www.allthewhey.com great variety of great tasting flavors. i normally get the blend, but i got a sample pack of the isolate once. if i'm lifting heavy, i'll mix some dextrose with the whey after a workout. if not, i'll drink it straight.

and great progress. you're always going to be your own biggest critic, but from an outsider, you've made some great physical progress.

I've done Yoga a few times, but with an already over-flowing plate of responsibility/obligation (...strenuous work, as you can relate.....BJJ, training Capoeira, teaching Capoeira, the gym, tracking my bike, etc.), I really couldn't add anything else without sacrificing in other areas. Flexibility is a tenet of Capoeira, and I stretch(ed) extensively. I put on muscle fairly quickly, and squats added additional muscle to my hip/hip flexor area. This affected my kicking speed/range for some reason despite the stretching. Maybe I just didn't stretch enough!!??! I never lost back/shoulder/etc. flexibility at all (..especially during dynamic movement), it was just an issue with the tightness in my hips. Now that I don't squat as much as I used to, all is well.

p90x is pretty complete workout program... except i think it doesn't do enough for CHEST muscles
most of the chest exercises are push up based... and i feel like i'm working my triceps to death and barely affect my chest on most of the routines

anyone else who's done p90x feel the same way?
i guess i'll have to hit the gym for some extra chest workout

Thanks bro! I've got tons of motivating Fanatics to keep me on track (..you, Dwass, and others). I think that I would realize more impressive gains if I supplemented on a regular basis. My supplement intake is cyclical.

yes, this is why after week 3 of round 2 of p90x, i went back to the gym.
instead of doing p90x resistance workouts, i workout at the gym now. Tues, Wed, and Sat, I do insanity, plyoX, or kenpoX.
