at a loss!! :(

ok so heres the situation I had alot of noise coming from car in higher rpms, alot of squealing.
just recently replaced all belts, pulleys, tensioners, on car it did help the sound but did not get rid of it. There is still a very high pitched squeal that comes after about 4.5k rpm. It sounds like a metal on metal squeal. The only things that i can think of are the a/c compressor, alternator, or power steering unit, considering i have replaced everything else. My question is has anyone else experience this. How do i fix it without having to replace the whole unit? if it is infact ps pump, alt, or ac? any suggestions would be helpful thanks!

I have experienced the squealing come from power steering pump and from the pulleys. Different times similiar squeal.

Difference in sound was the bad pulley/belt issue was more like you described at the higher RPM's. This had a higher thinner pitch. The power steering pump was heavier metal to metal sound....hope that didnt sound crazy.

Each time the parts were replaced the sound went away. The other thing is confirm the size of the belts you used to replace yours. If you had upgraded pulleys then you might need a different size from original belts.

Look under my old post on the power steering pump for some help. Good luck.

Im certain that its either the power steering unit or the alternator. All the belts are identical in size and new and all pulleys are new and correct size. It is def a high pitched metal on metal squeal. I will take a look at your post and check out the power steering pump.
