Me three! I am on the waiting list also!

Jeff, do you offer the backup camera accessory? I was just curious because i saw another vendor mention its a 50 dollar value. Call me lazy, but ill pay 50 bucks to not look over my shoulder in reverse! and to "wow" all passengers. I expect to get alot of "what year is this car?" type questions...

I dont sell the camera but i suggest you do your homework first as the camera install has been somewhat problimatic for some guys....fit issues, thats part of the reason i dont mess with them....well that and i have my hands full handling the dynavins alone.

I actually have a backup camera that fits in one of the license plate holders (theyre all over ebay) available for sale. If someone wants it for $30 bucks (cheaper than ebay and youll get it in 3-4 days instead of 10-20, lemme know.

The seller sent me an extra since they accidentally sent me one for a sedan fitment instead of coupe fitment (coupe fitment will fit either coupe or sedan, but sedan fitment will ONLY fit sedan). While waiting I just frankenstein'd mine to fit my coupe.

Links to download iGo Primo and Navigon navigation programs (requires a bigger Micro SD Card, Im currently running 3 nav programs just barely with a 4gb card)

http://dynavin.freeforums.org/igo-pr...nits-t356.html

http://dynavin.freeforums.org/navigo...good-t357.html

Look through the forum as there are some extra features and mods you might want to do when installing

Preppy (peter) today FTW!!!!!! Amazingly successful afternoon.

Reverse camera wired and installed. RCA switcher in the glovebox installed. iPhone composite video cable installed. N64 not quite finished but almost there

Perfect Dark on Dynavin

From this angle, the glare is even more exaggerated. From my seat, it was totally fine. Peter had it worse looking on the upper portion of the screen but, at night it will be totally perfect.

Here ya go.

The camera

Have to modify the trunk license plate bulb housing to accommodate the camera.

Goes in nice and flush when done

All wiring tucked in the trunk liner. No drilling was required

And as you can see, the camera is almost completely hidden. Were it not for the white plate and black camera, it probably wouldn't show up whatsoever.

Better video in a garage so less glare

I actually have THREE spare cameras. One like the one I utilized above. One which is slightly larger and designed for the sedans (which have more room in the bulb housing), and a Boyo that attaches to the license plate... doesn't require messing around with the trunk.

If you are interested in any of these cameras, just let me know

I paid like 50 for the trunk ones (the one I put on my car) but will let them go for 30. Understand I can't get full value for them.

The boyo ran me like 130 but I would let it go for 80-100. Keep me posted bud

Can you explain exactly how you had to modify the bulb housing to get the camera to fit?

The camera is slightly too tall to fit in the coupe trunk handle license bulb housing. We had to file down the top edge of the camera to get it to fit snug, otherwise it wouldnt fit in far enough for the clips to click in. It wasnt difficult, I handed Chase a file and 5-10 min later it fit no problem.

The license bulb housing requires you to take out the metal reflective plate above the light and to pull out the little box that holds the contacts/mounts for the bulb. On the backside of the trunk grip you will see on each side a little box that has 4 plastic rivets and is held into the trunk grip by 4 little tabs. Take screwdriver to each tab to pop it out and the result is the wiring/contacts for the bulb is now separated from the bulb housing. And after removing the metal plate you can fit the camera into that housing.

I know, kind of difficult to picture. Maybe Chase has a couple extra pics of the install

I have gotten a half dozen pms about the back up cameras. I have two license plate ones and the boyo which looks like this. Boyo doesn't require any alterations to the area above the plate like the one i did

I would assume so, Ive seen test units but we are still waiting on the regular production units, with new units coming in shortly so we will know for sure then.

I used the new platform on the E39 units, you probably saw my initial post a few pages back. Its good and the new on-screen cosmetics are nice but it is functionally similar to the older units so I hope all the V2-V4 guys wont think they are missing something...because they aren't really.

Jeff, any word on the possibility of enhancing an older Dynavin with the newer skin?
