I had a real reputable indie shop quote me ~$750 for the entire thing, they even have the giant BMW computer that the stealers have as well...but then again I'm here in the south.

By any chance do you have any of the service records?
meaning what parts were changed/what was done. |

Yo bro an inspection II shouldnt cost you that much. If you're going to pay that price just go to the dealership or another if that was an estimate from one. I paid $545 for mine. It should not run you more than $800 at the most!

For a M3 it's going to be different than a regular 3 series price. Haven't had one done yet but hear there over a $1000 at the stealership

Inspection ll from the dealer will run between $1,100- $1,300. That price seems in line. We have an indy shop here that does work on them as well and he told me $1,050. For the small difference I'll go to the dealer.

why is there valve cover gaskets billed but not valve shims. the big part of a m3 I2 or I1 is the valve adjustment. each shim is about $10 each i usually do all the exhaust ones and a hand full of intake shims out of spec. also i believe the spark plugs are due at i2 as well.

mine was like $1420. That also included a new trunk handle... someone decided they needed it more than me :/ and I had them replace 2 exhaust hangers that had partially cracked. So it would of been more like $1200. You should talk to your advisor and ask him to itemize it for you, mine tried to pull $500 for a spark plug change
