That's where I'm going shortly. Currently, I use the same flange on the stalk of the shifter as a stop for the DCT shifter. It's marginally taller than the stock one. The custom boot I ordered is 1.25" longer than stock (manual boot used).

So, 2 issues present themselves.
1. Need to cut shaft shorter to make it look "sick"
2. Can you remove the flange off the current shaft to allow shifter to move lower. I use a clamp under the top of the boot to actually secure the piece, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Need to look into this further when I get a few minutes..... Probably in next couple of weeks as I need to get into buddies shop to do the following tasks:
1. Replace VCG.
2. Replace RTABs with PowerFlex bushings.
3. Check brakes for weird squealing when cold.... Think they're glazed.
4. Look into shorter shifter.
5. Install remaining custom boots for eBrake and armrest (custom M3 stitching to match steering wheel (M3 SMG wheel) and shift boot cover....

Wrap about 6 sets of CF parts as well.....

Will try to check out shortening options probabably in next 2 weeks....
