White on White sedan

Well heres my ongoing build.

2001 325i on 18x8 (225/40) and 18x9.5 (245/40) M3 wheels. The fronts are replicas. The front lip is a MVR (havent seen many around but i really like it. I had a Mtech II but I dont think they flow as nice on the sedans as the coupes. Ordering a Hamman or ACS rear bumper shortly.

*NOTE - the exhaust tips were done by the PO, I hate them, they are too long and need to be staggared (im in the market for new tips if anyone has any ideas shout em out!)

Here's how she looked as of yesterday!

M3 wheels WILL fit on a sedan with enough finesse! I spent about 4 or 5 hours heating and pulling my quarters/fenders out ( i got them out about 3/4 on both sides and slightly flared the lip, the inside is rolled and then was hammered flush (this took a LOT of heat and since it was done before paint i didnt have to worry a whole lot about messing up the paint although I only had the paint chip in one spot.

the rest of the pics are before the new paint job

the other project - 2008 ZX6R race bike

did you own a civic before this?

Id like to see black trim, silver wheels, remove all stickers, and smoked corners.

Did you just spray the wheels while it was on the car? All i can see is overspray on the centercaps

the wheels are plastidipped (the center caps havent been peeled yet) I work in a place with access to powdercoating but wanted to see what the white on white would look like (if it was too much or not) before I powdercoated them. I have not owned a civic before this. I actually had a lifted SUV but close - The decals in the window are people who have assisted in the car in one way shape or form and to help out there shops. (Irrelevant Tuning, DriftFactory and GhettoFab (a car club/build shop)

the engine has changed slightly (cabin filter is back on now and its been detailed more, the green caps are now black) I think im going to go to a carbon engine cover though, idk about the green.

as for smoked corners, I bought them and didnt like the way they looked (they were too dark and stuck out too much) as for the black trim, I hate it on the E46s, it looks cheap, looks like BMW got lazy, all the new cars are painted and look much nicer. The E36s look great with the black trim though.

looks like the front tires are on backwards in this shot...

As for the car, um... well... I'm more of an OEM+ kind of guy, so all this plasti-dippin and green spraypaintin is just not my cup-o-tea. Makes me wince, frankly.

Yes, The front tire is on backwards in this picture. which is why I dont let anyone work on my bike besides me, this was taken about a block from my house the day after I got it home from being built. (A shop I'm not particularly fond of anymore did the work on my bike after it was wrecked by the drunk chick, they took about 2 months longer than quoted to build but she was paying for it all to be done and they were the only shop around me that could do the customizing for the ducati tail and stuff (I did the first build over 4 or 5 months in winter - I didnt have that time to put back into it after it was wrecked)

As for green engines and plastidip - im not particularly fond of it at the moment the dip actually looks fine from 5' away but they will be powdercoated in the next few weeks. The green bay is more than likely going to CF engine covers

So you have an 18" replica of the oem 19 wheel on the front? - They don't match. I'm actually digging the oem 18s (rears) in white on the white car, but the valve cover in green looks like crap. You're on the right track going with the MVR front, but a hamann rear lip may be too boxed off to flow withe MVR front. The ACS is a little rounder and will match the front better. Slow down, take your time and do the mods the right way

Here's a pic of my old pre facelift sedan from years ago w the hamann rear for reference

the Reps were on the car from the PO, I was under the impression they were 4 fronts (which is from info found on here so I picked up 2 OEM rears to make an attempt at fitting, when I recieved the rears it was obvious the front are reps. Although probably only to the BMW dudes.. Im working on tracking down a set of OEM fronts locally or else may go with style 95s

Thanks.

Back to your wheels though...

This is what a matching set of 18" wheels look like

This is the oem 19" wheel

This is the style you have up front, but the rears are the oem 18". While they both may be kind of similar and the same diameter, they are not a matching set.

Anyone have corner lights on a pre-facelift that dont look stupid? all the ones for the facelift cars look really nice. The ones i have on there are from ModBargains, and the smoked ones I tried were also from MB.

okay gotchya - so I have a 18" replica of the 19" style in the fronts - which may be why I was lead to believe they were 4 OEM fronts. I'm working on tracking down a set of fronts locally (if I cant find something in the next month I'll hafta fork out shipping rates to get a pair. What wheels were on your sedan?
