M3 or better.
No the 1 series M will be for those like me who will be on a budget coming out of school but want to upgrade from their e46 with an entry level bmw before growing into the more expensive cars. Its not about faking the bmw if you are passionate about them.

enjoy your accord...lease?

If your on such a budget then dont buy a BMW. And yes its a lease, I can afford a $1500 a month payment if i wanted too, but i dont want too. Id rather save and invest my money rather than to sink it into a car payment. Dont get me wrong, I love cars, but I have my priorities in order, cars are just toys, they come and go.

I will take the 1 series M coupe over the bloated E9x M3.

Each generation of new M got heavier and less fun to drive. I did not like my E60 m5 that much as compare to the E39 M5. I also did not like the E93 M3 my wife has over the old E46 M3.

135i is the best handling car that BMW currently has in its line up. I will gladly trading in my 135i for M coupe when it comes out.

^^^ my thoughts exactly. I'd definitely like the new 1 series M, but I hope they can justify a higher price over the 135i...I mean, the turbo on that N55 better be a beast with some lag and crazy pull (like the evo). Hopefully tuners can get to 450hp with it too. BMW must know that this will be a tuner's car.

Yeah, the N55 is a pretty cool engine but I wouldn't want it in an M version of anything. Hell, I don't believe the N54 is being put in BMW's models anymore.

135i, 335i & 335is, X5-35i, 535i, 740i, Z4-35S, I believe are all swapping to the N55, which is a SINGLE turbo, with what BMW calls "TWIN POWER TURBO". Two scrolls, one larger turbo. No-longer twin turbo. The cars pull the same if not a tad harder and they come standard with an audible blow-off valve. I believe they get slightly better fuel economy too.

I know it would be like asking them to pull another rabbit out of a hat, but the joy that their high-revving, high compression, high output motors invoke is a large part of what the ///Motorsport department is about. I truly hope they don't go the F/I route in the M's unless it is a new record breaking and jaw-droppingly powerful and exciting to drive powerplant.

whats the percentage of guys versus girls that buy/own a 1 series?

Reason Im asking is just because there are those people in the world who just go and find the "cutest" car and then get the "most expensive" one because "its the nicest" and thats that.

When was the last time bmw did a "tuners car"? I dont remember, but I also havent been paying attention for very long...

yeah a car from M is not really an M-car. And no matter how great it will end up being at the track- its only for people that want to fake moves.
