Marin County bimmers check in.

I just wanted to see how many bfc members we got in Marin.

Maybe even set up some quick drives in west Marin without all the HUGE planning that it takes to setup a bay area meet.

I am in Terra Linda.

I replied to your thread in Bimmerforums as well, but I am located in Corte Madera. A couple of E36 guys are in Marin as well. LWRNCE lives in Vallejo which is pretty close.

We definitely should do Northern Bay Area meet and drive. I know a couple of awesome roads which we could drive on.

Where is Marin? I've heard the cops there are pretty strict.

We can go on a drive up to Mount Tam. It's a beautiful drive and we can meet up before we head off to the drive. Also, when you get up to the parking area for Mount Tam, you can take a 15 minute hike up to the peak of the mountain and you can see EVERYTHING.

north bay meet

That MT Tam drive would be cool. It's about time that we have a meet in the north bay!

I grew up in Terra Linda. My parents still live there.

I am in South SF now.

When I go visit my parents, sometimes I will exit at Central San Rafael, go down to Peacock Gap, and take the twisties there to the Civic Center exit.

If anyone wants to set up a Mount Tam drive with me, PM me or IM me on AIM. A drive in Marin would be a lot of fun...away from the crowded roads.

Mt. Tam meet sounds great! There is one road I am not sure what it is called, but I have driven it a couple times that is off of hwy 1 near Stinson beach if you heading north is off to the right and you go over a cattle grate thing in the road and then it is a narrow but very long and twisty road that goes up the coastal mtns and then down in mill valley, I need to find out what it is called.

I live in Terra Linda too and the peacock gap/ China camp road is GREAT, but for a drive it is really short for ppl to come all that way for a short drive UNLESS you just want to keep turning around and doing it over and over. I do that when I want to hit some twisties that are 5 mins away. Best time to do these drives though I find is at around 9pm and after. I know everyone thinks night drives are dangerious, but in my opinion you don't have to worry about other cars nearly as much, no bicyclists etc and not cars in front to slow you down.

Lucas Valley road is another great Marin road to take, not in the daytime though, cars slow you down.

The road by the Cheese factory near Novato heading towards Petaluma is good.

We should get some rolling and it won't be thaat hard to organize since everyone is coming form 100 miles away.

The reason I say we should do a Mount Tam drive is because it has almost no traffic going up and down the mountain, has rest areas/picture locations we could stop at, has awesome scenery while driving, and you can hike to the peak (takes 15 minutes walking) and get a view of the Bay Area.

I think I live 2.5mins from you.. haha we should arrange a drive sometime. Lucas Valley Road is sick, China Camp is too short, Mt.Tam is a lil too hilly, but nice...

Is there room for a Sebastopol guy? No, I don't have a special prescription yet but maybe soon. 2002 M3 Vert all stock except new Dynavin N6 stereo.

Whatever you do DON'T go to Bill Arnold (see story below)

Go to West Bay Bavarian priced well for the area and nice clean facility.

I use to go to Bill and he use to be reasonably priced, but I got my dad a set of DJ Auto ellipsoids and a HID kit from DDMtuning for his 98 M3 and it took him 12 hours, but begrudgingly only charged 6 hours! I had a 95 M3 and it took me 1.5 hours tops. I have NO automotive traning or anything.
