Hennessey Venom GT Spyder Puts out A Ridiculous 1451 Horsepower

venomgt

Think the Lotus Exige with the BMW V10 in it was mental? See that here if you haven't already. Well, Hennessey brought out their big guns at SEMA 2015 and one of those big guns included their newest Venom GT, also a stretched Lotus Exige, which now sports a staggering 1451 horsepower! That's 207 more hp than their previous effort, in a car weighing just 2743 lbs. Some more crazy stats on the 2016 Venom GT: 0-60mph happens in just 2.4 seconds, 0-100 is 4.4 seconds, the quarter mile blazes by in 9.4 seconds at 167 mph and the GT will motor past the 280 mph mark. A 7 liter twin-turbo V8, which has the ability to run on E85 flexfuel, provides all the thrust. The E85 allows for an increase in boost from 19 to 26 psi, making those stats possible. "Being the fastest matters", said company founder and president, John Hennessey. "We are intent on keeping the Venom as the fastest, best performing and most exciting hypercar on the road".

Probably not yet, but the previous did just over 270, at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida in 2014. Per Venomgt.com. Will an extra 200 hp give it ~10 mph on the top end?

I know Top Gear said the Veyron covered a football field every second at 255 or whatever the top speed is.

Least favorite state by far. Have taken 80 across my fair share of times, do not wish that on anyone.

You take that back. Best steak I've ever had was in Omaha.
