explain your username...

not sure if there's been a thread on this, a casual search turned up nothing so I'll start a thread on it....

a few years ago I bought a boat that had an engine fire, restored it and named it Phoenix after the legend of that bird that burns up then is reborn out of the ashes. I ended up living aboard it for a few years hence...

I've always sucked at picking a username. So I just used my name and guy because I have a penis.

Back when I owned a Mitsubishi Evolution VIII I had just joined a local car board and picked this user name based on the type of car I had at the time. It stuck throughout a variety of other boards.

When I first joined this site I had an '03 E46 ///M3 on order (..with the S54 inline-6 motor). Simple! I was driving an '02 330ci at the time. That username has more or less stuck with me, and I've used it along with a few other pseudonyms on every other forum that I frequent.

P.S. There's already an older thread like this in existence.

Cool. But you didn't explain where erick came from and why it's spelled with a c and a k.

I want to be anonymous and JohnDoe is too conspicuous so here we are. The 1 is only because some assclown picked the version without the number before me. I've had it since I was 13 in the days of AOL and AIM, haven't seen a reason to change it.

NFR (new formula red, the color of my s2000), s2000 (self explanatory) and NYC is where I lived during my beginning forum adventures. Over the years, it stuck.

i'm named after my great grandfather who spelled it that way.

he was from holland did a lot of strange stuff. like not capitilizing words and writing in sentence fragments.. he also had two wives, one here and one he left in holland.

explain your username...

- When I was a kid, I was playing FF8
- Thought of a character in my party
- Started with Squall, username was taken, tried Zell and it worked
- Stuck with this over the years in various games and forums, but I've found it is taken a lot more often than not now

Growing up, my first "real" gf and I had a rough time. I discovered a side of me that I didn't know I had. As Star Wars as it sounds, it was a really dark side that I didn't particularly like. So I started using it as a reminder of what not to do. Then it just stuck, I got lazy in creating another name and just used it throughout. 213 is my hometown's area code (LA)
