My friend has a lower end dc board. He likes it. But I can't really comment more than that. I've never used it.

these are the bindings. 2010 K2 Cinch CTX

I bought the bindings and board off a guy who needed to sell to fix his car. It looks like the bindings alone tend to get around 150 a set on ebay.

so ive decided i'm gonna be on the lookout for a board i can jib with. hopefully i can pick it up around the end of this season and use it once in the spring, if we manage to get some more snow here in the northeast.

what's the wisdom of shelling out more money for a more expensive board in this case? my thinking is that i'm just gonna be running over obstacles and probably hitting the board against all sorts of stuff. wouldnt it be better to get something cheap and not feel bad when i mess it up?

that's damn good deal for a vapor. they're like $1000 new. im not a big fan of them because they're directional but if you're the type of guy that rips top to bottom and skips the park than that's that board for you. they rip turns. as far as the cinchs go I've never liked the quick in/out systems from anyone. I think you'd be happier with a more traditional binding on that board, it'll give it a lot more response. hope it works out for you!

the cheaper the board the cheaper the materials used to build it. so a better board will last a lot longer. but if you're not trying to put too much into it get something in march/April when shops discount in line boards to 50+% off and get something built a little better. you'll be way happier you did that then getting a cheapo in season and it falling apart in you

I can sell the K2 cinch bindings with my 2001 burton BMC for 225 to a friend and run the 2008 vapor with 2012 cartels. Sound like a good move?

I have some cartels. Coming from saloman bindings with a non padded baseplate, they're a little soft. Although people say they're one of the more responsive bindings, I guess I was just spoiled with my saloman bindings.

Edit: you'll definitely like then over the quick snap k2s though.

well I ended up getting it. 400 dropped off at my door. 2008 Vapor with 2010 K2 Cinch CTX bindings

Board is in great shape and I'm selling the K2 bindings with my old burton to a friend for 250 which will basically leave me 150 out of pocket for the Vapor.. which I am putting my 2011 Cartels on

Ski-Trax is another good app... gives elevation, elevation drop, duration, speed, and you can link it to google maps and it will show the run you made, so if you are adventuring back country and want to know exactly where you went you can track it that way... I also used this app for kayaking haha.. worked awesome.

also on a side note... we got another 4" last night. the avg. snowfall here for the entire winter is somewhere around 12-16" over the course of a winter, after last night we are sitting at 22-24" already - and we still have the two heaviest snowfall months ahead of us..

should have bought a sled this year

Yeah I'm almost as excited about the look of the board as i am about the assumed weight and response of it. On the side, my gf asked her sister's bf (professional snowboarder) if I got a good deal on the board/bindings and he basically said I wasted money because even a 2008 vapor is "too much" snowboard for someone outside of a professional level. He thought that any additional benefits from it would be so minute that I would be better off with a cheap modern board.

Said the bindings were great but a little haevy... guess it's good I'm seling em

Fist time out in close to 2 years. Went to 7Springs in PA yesterday and had a blast. IMO it's one of the more descent places here in the Mid Atlantic Region. It's amazing how small this place feels after doing a few west coast trips. Hating on you west coasters just because I don't think I'll make it out west this season. I need new boots. That is all, ok bye.
