Vanos Class Action
Does anyone know if there is a Vanos Class Action just like the one for the Subframe on the E46 ?
E.g. if anyone is interested.. http://www.e46subframeclassactionsettlement.com/ http://www.girardgibbs.com/bmwe46.asp What's been going on is that i got the car a few days before Xmas last year and every once in a while it would stall. The RPMs would dip below 500 and sometimes it will stall other times it spikes back up. I thought it was something with the gas the first time so I didn't really think about it much just started it and kept on driving. The other day it happened like 5 times in 15 minutes. I know it's not the gas because my buddies and I are getting it from the same Shell station and they have no problems. I went to Global Imports here in Atlanta and they told me that unless there is a check engine light they can only look at it but won't do anything.. which to me is BS because if it's the seal as many people suggest then there is no freaking way the light will come on... Anyway after talking to the Shop foreman he said that an update on the software would fix the problem. Guess what not only did it not fix the problem but the car now runs like ****. It lacks power under 2500 RPM. The needle of the RPM Gauge is fluctuation up and down in about 50-100 RPM. So my question really is does anyone would like to get together and file a Class Action Lawsuit for the Vanos as well? I mean i'd change it myself if it was a maintenance part but not when it has a faulty design which is almost 100% prompt to give out after a few thousand miles of driving... BTW here is where I found the good seals and the installation instructions. http://www.beisansystems.com/procedu..._procedure.htm |

Do you really want to spend years of your life pursuing a class action lawsuit? The seals are cheap and easy to replace, just replace them and move on with your life. Too many lawsuits in the world as it is and it's mainly the lawyers that benefit.
