Cd changer question/problem

Well I tracked down a 6 cd cartridge for my factory BMW cd changer and put some cd's in it tonight to test it. The cartridge loaded in fine and I could hear the changer loading through each cd in the cartridge but it would end up saying 'No discs' on the head unit. I've searched the forums and read about people having issues with jammed cartridges etc... But mine isn't jamming at all. I used all types of CDs from new to old proper not burnt CDs as well as some burnt cdr and cdrw but everytime it would just cycle through all 6 discs and not read any of them.

Any ideas?

Obvious, I know.....but have you confirmed that the discs are right side up? Make sure to follow the directions on the cartridge for the playing surface position.

I'm pretty sure they are. The side of the disc with the album and artist graphics etc... is facing up. Thats right eh?

whilst my cd changer is cactus at the moment i can't really comment too much but from reading many threads on this forum people arent overly happy with DICE and similar devices. I'd want to maintain the use of my steering wheel controls to change tracks etc... and there isnt many options for this, or is there? i may be wrong.

I had this issue also. Turned out to be dirty lense on the laser pick up. Get a generic CD cleaner or DVD cleaner (With the little brush on it) and run it through your changer. You can do this when it starts to skip a little bit also

Pulled the changer apart and used a cd cleaning cloth to clean it inside but its still not recognising any discs. Each cd is pulled from the cartridge but it never spins and it just moves onto the next disc...............
