Why E46 mods so damn expensive?
Excluding the M's, all other BMW's a/m mods are reasonably priced! Yes, even the e90's mods are generally on the cheaper side (comparatively) than those of e46's.
I don't get it - I thought the guys with real dough, who bought these cars in their prime have since moved on to newer cars and as such you would expect a/m mod producers to have recouped their investment costs by then thus be able to sell these mods (now) as cheap as they do for e36's, e30's etc? |

Car price cheapens, more people buy an E46, so demand of E46 parts remain the same, price remains the same.
Totally different for Volkswagen MKV's. No where near as common as an E46. A replica R32 front bumper cost upwards of $700 because of how much less of those cars are on the road. The E90 generation has sold considerably well, so the prices on those are in the same ballpark as the E46 which is still a very popular car. |

E9x don't count. They are too ugly for their mods to worth anything. The E46 mods will be cheaper when the F3x roll out. That will be the real E46 replacement.

its already out, i was just at the bmw dealership yesterday to test drive the new 135is that was supposed to be the m1. the new 3 sereis is a little nicer but still ugly. nowhere near a good replacement for the e46 in terms of looks.

I would think demand for E46 mods has gone up in the last few years. The E46 has gotten cheaper, which means younger people have been buying them. Younger people = more modders.

As for the 1 series, it's a girls' car that even girls don't like. I tried to convince my sister she should get a 1 series so that she can save on the servicing while I do that for her. She took one look and told me that was ugly. I nodded and agreed. Last edited by GoingNuts; 07-22-2010 at 02:58 PM. |

The New E9x Looks amazing inside and out, it actually does make the E46 look dated. The 1 series look like ****, and from a pricing and size perspective, they don't make sense.

hahaha, unless you drive an E46 M3 which looks amazing and always will because of it's beautiful fenders.. the E46's are really looking dated out on the road these days..

As for the E46 M3, I never liked the fat ass. I prefer something more muscular as an extension of myself. |

I never understood BMW putting the price of the 1 series so close to the 3 series. Good intention on making the 1 series, bad implementation on the pricing factor.
