4 mysterious pins...

when taking apart the rear deck of my 2004 325i sedan, the last thing i get to are these 4 pins (which appear to be plastic/metal). A few people have told me all I have to do is push them through, but I dont know if that means down through the deck, or up through the deck from the bottom. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

push them in and the pins will fall thru.

This is how you remove the rear deck.
to replace the rear deck you have to replace all the pins with new ones from the dealership.

it is the pin numbered 14 in this parts diagram below.

this is how it is.

The pins can usually be recovered. To reassemble you inset the pin halfway, then fit the plug to the car, then push the pin down to flush like it was when you found it.

I spent half the day looking behind the seatback inside the trunk and only found one of the pin dowels.

funny thing is from the trunk you can clearly see how they fall thru and where they fell from and where they should all land but after searching and searching I didn't see anything.

It was like they dissappeared into oblivion.

In frustration I just ordered new ones from the dealership. All 4 was like $2
and i think they give you an extra one free.
