First time submerged arc welding. Very nice welds.

Triple pass T-weld/ fillet.

The gun setup weighs about ten pounds making free hand a pain.

It'll weigh a lot less under water though.

^submerged arc welding is actually not underwater welding. The arc is submerged in a flux powder that comes out of a tank through the gun. This allows you to run high amperage to get deep penetration without the radiant heat. we were probably around 250-300 amps on 3/8" plate. Which is less than half of that machines capability.
