Head Unit/Aux input problem-need help

So I bought my 05 330xi about a month ago and had my sirius stilletto 2 professionally installed. got it back and it works for like 10 minutes before the Aux cuts out and doesn't recognize anymore. I pull the wire out of the input and the Aux recognizes again, but when I plug it back in it'll play for like 30 sec before cutting out again and not recognizing the Aux.

Also, I can plug an Ipod into the Aux and it'll work fine for hours.....and I've seen..... #225 .....pop up on the head unit screen a few times when i've done this. Is this a error code of some sort??

So what do you guys think? could this be a head unit problem? a wire connection problem? or an install problem?

I took it to bmw first thinking it was definately a head unit problem and they just plugged in an ipod and told me since that works then there should not be any other problem. I'm taking it back to the place I had it installed tomorrow but i wanna see what you guys think????

I've had the same exact problem with mine, except it stops working with my iphone as well. What did you come up with on this?

Probably the wrong impedance at the Aux In port or a ground loop.

Sorry to Necro this old thread but has anyone else had this problem or been able to solve this problem?

I have the same issue, some days the aux input works fine all day, other days it works for a little while and then cuts out. If i unplug and replug the device(ipod, sat radio, etc...) it will work again, but only for a couple seconds.

I have checked the wires and connections on the aux line and they appear to be fine, continuity tests numbers were good, so I dont see an issue with the cable itself.

I have never seen the code 225 the OP mentioned on my display though.

Could the location of the aux input line make a difference. For instance, I have mine installed in the sunglass holder and the wires runs behind the climate control unit to the back of the head unit. There are a lot of wires back there that it passes over, under and so forth. Could there be some weird interference from that?

it might just be a coincidence but it seems to happen more frequently when I have the heat on, although I dont have enough data to say for sure that is definitely the case.

This is on a business cd radio part # 6 921 963.

Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
