Best Buy- Sucks

Had a Samsung washer and dryer delivered on the 23d. I was given a delivery window of 8 am to Noon. I took off the morning from work to be there, they got there around 2PM. The installer smelled like a smoke stack, and installed the 2 pieces, started them on their first cycles and left. I have the Gas dryer install kit that I was forced to buy, that he did not use and would not take it back stating I have to take it to the store myself. There is a reason I shop on line, not to have to go to the store. Now here is the biggie...as the washer and dryer are running through their first cycles I decided to take a peek behind the 2 and make sure nothing was leaking. Good thing I did....the asshat did not connect the vent to the gas dryer and it was pumping that **** into the house. I called best buy to come back to fix it, and I still sit here waiting for a call. I had it taken care of on my own because I needed the washer and dryer......the dumb fock did not put a clamp on the hose and just slipped it on. Unbelievable! 1st time I did not pick up and install myself and this is what I get. Always do things yourself, that way you know it is done right.

The installer is contracted by Best Buy, it's not his responsibility to do refunds, you can't fault him for that. Being too lazy to drive somewhere to return something is also not a problem HE created, can't fault him there either. He's a smoker, probably made one wrong decision in high school and will pay for it the rest of his life, at least he wasn't drunk. No one's perfect, do you go to work every day and do your job with absolute perfection? As I see it, you came here to b!tch about a series of first world problems that you could have fixed in the same amount of time it took you to type your post.

Congratulations?

That's not a big deal, just wait until your Samsung washer explodes on you. Something similar happened to our neighbor, and Samsung has yet to make them whole (lots of excuses and promises, no real satisfaction on a month-old washer):

Be sure to call them to complain on your Samsung Note 7...

As a matter of fact, I do.

And Had I not been in the accident, a washer and dryer pick up delivery and install by me would have been no problem. You attitude tells me that I would never hire you...

Someone is butthurt.

This is not a "hmm the dryer was off to the right by 2 inches" or a "man he scratched the dryer during install", this is a "what the fvck man I have to pull the dryer off and re-do a connection properly because you were too lazy to do it the first time".

You pay someone to do a job, you expect them to do the job, not half-ass install that still requires the person paying for the services to finish the job.

This. If I'm paying for it, I expect the job it be complete. If the guy is coming over for free and forgets to install something then that's ok.

BB needs to fire whoever they contract through. I have NEVER had a good experience with them.

Story 1:
- Buy new bar fridge from them (big one, not dorm fridge size) and ice maker. Told that delivery is free but they charge $20 for ice maker install. Fine, whatever, pay the $20. Delivery scheduled for the next week.
- Fridge comes no problem and on time. Delivery people are great and get everything set up just fine. They pull out the ice maker and tell me they don't have the proper training to install it. WTF? They call their supervisor to set up another appointment with a different crew. Fine. Say supervisor will call me back in 30mins to schedule it. Never calls back.
- I call them and b1tch about it, they set up a time the next week to come by and install. Ok, no problem. Next crew comes by and says that this is the wrong part and they need to talk to their supervisor. I'll give you one guess what happens next.
- Go to the store and complain. Store manager says he'll personally come and install it as it's not that hard. Sure, not hopeful but whatever. Manager comes by, takes one look and says he doesn't have the tools for it but it's the right part, needs to be install services. He actually does set up another time for them to come by.
- Next guy comes by and installs it in 10 minutes with a screwdriver and is blown away that this many people couldn't figure it out. Now I could have done the same but I already paid the $20 to get it done. Guessing this whole ordeal cost BB more than $20 to install it.

Story 2:
- Buy new TV (big one, doesn't fit in Jeep #humblebrag) on Saturday, free delivery scheduled for Tuesday between noon and 5. I tell them to add a note to call me when they are 15mins out so I can run home from work. I only work 5 mins from home.
- Delivery guys call me at 4:51pm on Tuesday and say they are already at my house and will wait 15mins for me to show up. I rush home and am there by 4:57 and they are already gone.
- Call BB to complain and they apologize and set up another time on Thursday between noon and 5. This time I work from home half day on Thursday so that I'm here as soon as they arrive and they can't pull the same sh1t again. Well this time, they don't arrive AT ALL. So I call to b1tch about my lost time and where the hell is my TV. They say that though the appointment was made, it was never confirmed in the system. WTF does that mean?
- Eventually just tell them to cancel the delivery order, call up a buddy with a truck, drive to store, bring it home in an hour and done.

Still wonder why this is so hard for them, we have bought the rest of our appliances through another company and everything from delivery to service has been flawless because they own their own service and delivery function.

If you are so perfect.... How come you didn't check his work before he left?

Also had a bad experience when we had our washer and dryer installed, only our guy got the hot and cold lines reversed, causing scalding hot water to come out when I ran a cold load. Luckily I decided to test it when they left, and was able to get the installer to come back within an hour (after trying to convince the dispatcher that I wasn't an idiot, and that he did in fact screw it up). The installer comes back all pissed off, telling me I'm wrong, only to see he did indeed screw up!

Was a rhetorical question.

Your mistake for not checking.

Are you a contracted delivery/install guy for best buy who half-asses his job?

Did he at least apologize upon realizing he messed up?

He has no Idea, and Best Buy has not called to come back and fix it.

what? at least he wasn't drunk? oh and i'm sure you would be as forgiving if a mechanic didn't tighten your wheels and one fell off while on the highway. i agree that no one is perfect but what he forgot to do is a major part of his job. not like he forgot to clean up after himself in the hurry. he didn't connect the fvcking gas vent.
