Gifts for groomsmen

ok guys so my wedding is right around the corner and im having a hard time choosing gifts for the groomsmen. I looked at those websites that specialize in that but those gifts are crap (you know that cheap looking personalized BS). i figured i'll buy something different for each of them that represents their hobbies but that is proving to be harder than i thought. i have four groomsmen including the best man.

1.so best man is a mechanic that's opening his own shop in the near future so i figured this personalized clock would be great.
http://www.findgift.com/gift-ideas/pid-190984/

2. my brother is a soccer fan like myself so that one was easy.

3. one loves fishing like myself and like myself has a ton of fishing stuff and im having a hard time deciding what to get him.

4.last one works as a airplane engineer and i have no idea what to get him except maybe the beer boot as he's the best wingman ever and greatest drinking buddy.

let's hear some ideas or criticizm of my chosen gifts. again i'm not going with the typical bs gifts on these gifts for groomsmen website. TIA guys

Sounds like your plan is pretty good.

I got all my guys pocket knives with their initials on them. At least that is something they could use, rather than the other crap that I've received over the years. Some of the stuff I literally went home and threw away immediately.

Best groomsman gift I ever got was a leatherman wave multitool. Next best groomsman gift I ever got was nothing. Seriously - don't stress about it. Buy each of them a $35 bottle of booze and you're good. A friend isn't really going to care about the gift or whether or not you give him a gift at all - unless it's something stupid like a pen with their name on it or cufflinks.

I gave my guys a bottle of Green Label. They seemed pretty excited.

My best one was Beer Mugs, with the Colts logo (all of us are huge fans and go to games/tailgate together) engraved with our names. I use it when I am at home on game days.

That is a good idea.

Your idea of getting them something revolving around their hobbies isn't a bad one and it does show that you know about them and care enough to get them each an individual gift. But if it were me I wouldn't do that. The thing they will probably appreciate the most is something of high quality that they would not necessarily think of buying themselves. Such as the wallet and high end booze ideas, I think that sort of thing would be more appropriate for the big day.

Be careful of your timing of presenting them with a gift of booze. Pre-wedding and you will have very drunk groomsmen. They will be drinking before no matter what. But if you buy you are green-lighting madness.

All the guys that i will be having stand up with me are HUGE football fans. Im going to having personalized jerseys of there favorite team made for them with there names on them. Some may think the idea is dumb but i know they are going to love it.

I'm actually getting married Sunday and I have been thinking about this and decided to go with money. IMO, I love money gifts the best because you can get whatever you want with it!
