I can understand why some people would spend $600 on speakers for a quick install and matched speakers, but not $700 for an amp on top of that for a car that is worth around $20k...

That said I have owned the E36 trunk subwoofer and while it was expensive it was really well made.

I will not purchase the speakers / sub until the amp comes out. So based on the wait, I will probably have a 2013 M3 before the amp is out and will no longer have a need for it. Your loss.

Scientists have constructed and used a Partical Accelerator to collide matter and confirm the existance of the Higgs Boson Particle that confimes a model explaining the creation of the begining of the universe...the technology that can be devloped from these findings is said to play a role in the devolopment of the BSW Stage 2 amp. Top Authoritys belive completion of the BSW amp is now projected shortly after the F10 M5 is affordable to most current E46Fanatics Members. Although at that time traditional Lead Acid batteries running the current 12 volt systems will be outlawed by Government regulations and the Amp will no longer be compatible with the upgraded power supplies in motor vehicals.

I've decided to wait no longer. Does anyone know the approximate RMS power handling of the newer BSW midbasses?

Never mind. Found out they are 65-75w RMS.

Okay that hurt. 10 points for mastering snarkism. They need a poking to say the least.

BSW says they're in longevity testing currently, and it should be out by year end. ...if you want to believe them.

Well I went ahead and installed an aftermarket amp with my BSW Stage 1 speakers. I used a new JBL GTO-504ez. It's about 50w RMS x4ch.

I'm just powering the 4 midbasses with the new amp and the rest with the stock HK. I used the built in high pass filter at about 60hz. I had to turn the gain way down to avoid drowning out the speakers on the HK.

It was a good bit of work doing the wiring, but I'm really pleased with the results. The BSW midbasses sound darn good with some decent clean power.

I understand your frustration guys but with this system it needs to be beyond right. We have an amp. We have a harness. We have the parts but making it a clean install that is not cobbled together. We probably announced that we were even working on way too early and created a buzz around something that was just a drawing on paper. I understand not everyone will wait and to some upgrading an older car is not worth it. On the other hand we have a lot of enthusiasts customers and they want to wait and love their car. My 87 E30 has a 24V swap and a 6sp. Wife says I am crazy but you know how enthusiasts are. Love their cars. Some will have moved on and others will still have their E46.

We are working. I promise

Is this a configuration issue with the crossovers in the trunk?

Hope it's better than every aftermarket amp on the market. Otherwise, complete utter bullshit.

I'm so ready for this amp as well. I'm content with the sound of the BSW stage 1 speakers but I can only imagine how clear it would all sound amplified...correctly. Please keep us updated.
