Should I cut off battery when working on lights?

I am worrying about getting shock if don't isolate myself from source. My headlights are D2S which carries I believe 85V. I also don't want to mess up with my radio which happened before on my AUDI A4.

So, should I cut off source when working on lights? Thanks a lot.

Oh, I am a new bimmer from Nanjing, China. I am so glad to join the club here
Why am I always getting some code?

Just turn the car off and pull the key. You shouldnt measure anything on the headlights.

Even without the key, you can illuminate them by flashing the highbeams... so if you're not careful, best bet is to disconnect to feel safer. However, its the amps that kill you, not the volts.
