dreaded window drop issue

Just picked up a 02 M3 vert.....the passenger side is fine, but the drivers side only occasionally drops the 1/4 inch when I open and close the door.

Which reset procedure worked for you, tried the down and hold one....

It works sometimes, is this one of those have to build up the microswitch issues, if so, where is it...lol

NEWBIE and frustrated a wee bit

Update- fixed it last night- did the WD-40 bombing of the latch in the door, let it soak, bombed again, then operated the latch till it worked and lastly lubed with silicon lube as the WD-40 will dry out.

Just thought I would let you know.

And not working again- seems more bombing needed- will try electrical cleaner, then wd 40, then silicone.

And carpet bomb it

It's the door lock actuator. Replacing it will fix the issue. About an hour or two fix depending on how nimble and small your hands are.

I had the same issue and it ended up being the window regulator. I tried replacing the latch and the CM Module first, and that didn't fix it. There is a spring in the regulator that pulls the window down, and the plastic retainer for the spring was partially broken. the window would drop only sometimes and sometimes just a little. I had the same issue with the other door about 6 months later.
