I have a 2000 323ci. About a month ago I was driving around. After a red light, I noticed my first gear seemed really weak. Once I got into second gear, the car went into limp mode and wouldn't go past 2000-2500 RPMs again with extreme power loss.
Also, the EML, DSC, and Service engine soon light came on.
I took it to a BMW Service dealership and got a diagnostic and they told me it needed a new mass air flow sensor. I bought a new one for $331 and have been driving around and it has been great, zero problems (also all the lights went out! )
Today, about 2 weeks later, the same problem occured. I was just driving and noticed my car went back into limp mode and all 3 lights came on.
There are two potentiometers in the throttle body (A&B), the second is for redundancy. They have a carbon wipe based system to sense the position of the throttle. Eventually the carbon strips wear through. There has never been a successful repair and a new TB must be fitted
In Inpa this gives something like a "Throttle position potentiometer sensor A/B implausible value".
Also they can get stuck with gunk.

If you have bad wiring to the TB or the ECU [unplugged TB in this case] it gives any number of these faults

I had this same thing start to happen to me, same codes and all. We think the ECU is bad, so I'm in the process of replacing it. If I beat you to a solution I will let you know.
any solution yet? I'm throwing a peak code 6e and a9, i hope it isnt the throttle body.
