OEM Headunit swap. Internal Antenna?

I am needing to swap the headunit in my 01 325ci. From what I've gathered, this unit has an internal powered antenna and ones post 2002 don't. If I were to get one of the later dated ones (possibly for aux or mp3 support) what would I need to bypass this antenna so FM will still be an option as well?

To use a newer HU in an '01 E46, you need an antenna adapter because BMW changed the antenna connectors in 2002. You may also need a newer antenna amplifier, which is in the driver's C pillar on a coupe or sedan. You can get the antenna adapter at Best Buy's install bay - I recall it's a VW-10 and a EU-20 that you connect together. The antenna amplifiers are available on EBay.

As Steve330ci mentioned all you'll need is an antenna adaptor, a new antenna amplifier is not needed though.

You need a FAKRA DIN adapter to convert the antenna connection to your NG radio. You need to follow this guide to fit an NG C pillar amp with the diversity antenna selection built in.
